If you asked P, he wouldn't have to think very long to tell you his favorite part of the weekend!
We went to a great festival. There were boat races, sand sculpture, and most importantly for P, Civil War and Native American re-enactors! P wowed them with his knowledge of period weapons. They had a table of 5 rifles and 2 pistols displayed, and P named 6 of the 7 correctly. He loved the artillery demonstration too, but his favorite of all was firing a replica Springfield! The re-enactor had him tear the end of the paper cartridge with his teeth- P got a little too close and got some gunpowder in his mouth!
He didn't worry about that too much though, because right after that, he got to fire the rifle!
N isn't into history much- but even he enjoyed meeting this guy:
All in all we had a nice weekend. I didn't study as much as I should have, but it was fun to spend time with the boys.

Sounds like a great time for the boys. I'm looking at the pic of P w/the rifle, and the teen in the background, losing his pants. Don't you just want to walk up to kids like that and tell them to pull up their pants?!!
Yes I hate that too! At N's school they use computer cable wire ties for kids that have pants that are falling down!
LOL, I like that idea.
The festival looks like something I would love. So, that pretty much guarantees that young boys liked it.

eb- he thought of that all by himself. He jumped up there and said "look at me, Mom" lol. It's my new favorite
